looking for a vintage sewing pattern site?


most sites i have found show only the patterns they have for sale. is there a site that is a ‘repository’ for every pattern ever posted on that site. sort of an historical database of patterns.

There’s the Vintage Pattern Library: http://www.uri.edu/library/special_collections/COPA/index.php
which is a pay-for-it site, but quite rich in materials. I availed myself of their generosity last summer when it was open for a week to look around. It’s not something that is of great personal interest to me, but it would be an incredibly rich source for a costumer or vintage clothing enthusiast. Copa offers 3 month, 6 month or year subscriptions, and also has a 4 CD set with part of their pattern images. Images are typically the pattern front panel and layout diagram, like the illustration here:
