Why did he give me most of his clothes if he never intended to marry me?


I was engaged to a guy on a Tourist Visa. We were planning to get married today (his birthday). I went to visit him week before last. He told me he had some last minute immigration paperwork to finish up. He’d jump on a plane in a few days to meet me as soon as his upcoming appointment was complete.

He gave me the bulk of his clothes, his hooka (a Middle Eastern smoking pipe), and was going to give me his chain (but I told him to keep it because I loose jewelry so often). He only kept a few articles of clothing– enough for a travel-on.

He stopped answering my calls and returning my voice mails last week. I assume because his Visa extension went through and he no longer *had* to marry me.

What makes no sense, is why did he give me most of his clothes and cherished hooka if he never intended to marry me?

Maybe freedom meant more than you or the hookah. I’m sorry this has happened to you. I really really am. Maybe something has happened to him and he *can’t* return your calls. I’m not sure. Give him till the end of the month and then If you get no answer I would start looking for someone new in your life.
