Help with directions for sewing in piping on butterick apron pattern?


I’m inexperienced with piping and need some help. This are instructions for sewing piping onto a strip of fabric with interfacing on the back. Could someone help me understand what these mean?

-Pin piping to upper and lower edges of UPPER BAND 13, placing ridge of piping slightly inside 3/8″(1 cm) seam allowance and clipping piping seam allowance on center edge. (Picture shows piping being pinned to right side of fabric)

-Turn seam allowance on lower edge of band to inside, folding in fullness at center front and turning piping out; press.

Can someone help me? I don’t understand…

Here is a video that shows how to sew on piping. It does start out with making home made piping, but continues on to the actual sewing of the piping.
