How do I read this sewing pattern?


Is there a website or is there any information you can give me on reading a sewing pattern. Ive sown before but never with a pattern and i just dont get it. I went to a few stores and they weren’t any help at all.
Its a pattern for scrubs. Please let me know if you can help me! Thank you!

Wash and dry the fabric first!!

Follow the steps. In order. Somewhere near the very begining it should tell you which pieces to cut out, if you need one or two or if it needs cut on a fold to make it twice the size, like the back of a shirt.

Solid lines are for cutting. The arrows shows you which way the grain of the fabric needs to go.

Dashed lines are for sewing.

The little black tabs that are shaped like diamonds show you where to fit two pieces together. Do not cut these off.

Usually, if a pic is shaded in the instructions it is showing the inside of the fabric. Blank is the patterned or right side.

It is very self explanatory once you have done it.

Cut it out and start at step one. Don’t try and understand the whole thing the first time. It is too overwhelming. Just focus on step one. It gets easier with practice. If you goof up-oops. Rip out the seam and start again.

Most seams ar eon the inside so make sure the printed sides of the fabric face each other and you are sewing on the wrong side.
