What are the main items I should buy to start jewellery making?


I want to start a new hobby and seeing as i LOVE jewellery and sparkly things I am thinking that I would love to make my own. There are so many fab e-stores where you can buy lovely sparkly gemstones and beads but I don’t know where to start! I have never given it a go before so I was wondering… What are the main items/ tools i should buy (OK, i know beads and thread! but other suggestions please!) and if there is a particular book/ guide that is good for beginners? Any suggestions please! x

First you need to decide what kind of jewelry you would like to try. I would start out with something easy. Figure out your favorites, wire or string, types of closures, styles and patterns, there’s a lot of decisions to make. I find that I spend more time deciding on the style, bead colors and patterns since I make so many different kinds! You’ll definitely have fun doing it plus they make great gifts!! I taught myself through the internet and didn’t take courses, so I’m sure you can too!!
