goat udder bag?


I have a goat that is always cutting her udder on the fence.
replacing the fence is out of the qustion, so I need a durable ‘bra’ desighned for a goat. where can I get one? even a sewing pattern would do!
That may be nice for somebody with a single pasture, and one goat, but I have several, and this one has a HUGE udder, and none of the other goats hardly ever get cut. anyway, I have miles of fenceing that I am hardly keeping repaired.

You aren’t going to like my answer, but if she is cutting her udder on the fence, she either needs to be moved to a pasture with different fencing or the fence needs to be replaced. You can buy udder supports through goat supply stores but if the fence is cutting her udder it will cut the fabric on any kind of support you put on her, plus it is very difficult to get udder supports to stay on for any length of time and they need to be washed very frequently. Udder supports are meant to be used for goats who have udders that drag the ground in late pregnancy, not for continuous wear.

What kind of fence do you have that is cutting her udder? The only thing I can think of is barbed wire. If that is the case you should be aware that barbed wire fencing is very dangerous for goats in general, not just their udders. They do not have thick skin like cattle, and they can get a lot more than just their udders cut from it, I know people who have lost goats due to barbed wire.
